hello i am dub. i made this :)

I decided to make dubLOG because I have had a huge distaste for the modern social media platforms for a long time.

I have abandoned those old accounts I had. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram; by now those accounts are probably hacked by overseas scammers. But no one really even followed me anyway, and the people who did hopefully have the common sense to unfollow them.

However, once I found out there's a wide community of people still making independent websites, sharing what they love, their passions and hobbies. Sharing their lives. I wanted to give it a shot. And now I'm building skills I never thought I'd learn, html and all that. So I'd like to share part of my life here. Not someplace dictated by algorithims or likes. I want you to see this page and see me in it. Not a person who's fit into the mold of what a social media page is meant to look like.

I grew up in the 2000s, too young to really explore the wild west internet. But as I got older I thought it sounded like an awesome place to be. And I miss some the websites I used to visit when I was a kid. Coolmath, Wizard101, FusionFall, places I associate with browsing the internet on Internet Explorer. lol, what a crazy time that is so far away now.

I want to share some of my life experiences here too, things that are on my mind or what I wrestle with. I hope whatever I share never comes across as "my life is so great", which I am very thankful and grateful for it. But I want you to just be encouraged by what you see here, that the things you value are important. Niche things that people generally would not care about, thats something that makes life fun and unique for everyone. I am nostalgic, I won't deny that, and there's many reasons for why I am that way, I think. It probably should affect my judgement but my hobbies, my passion, my desire to look back and even bring something back... it makes me happy. No, it brings me joy.
